How Can We Help?
All staff members should see the Panther Media Center as an extension of your classroom --- Let's talk about how we can collaborate to enrich the learning experience of your students this year!
Sending students to the Media Center:
You can send up to three students at a time any period except third. Make sure they have a pass and send a note with any special instructions about how they should be using their time.
To schedule time for larger groups or your whole class you will need to make arrangements ahead of time. See Mrs. Wier or send an email about your needs. There are two computer labs in addition to the main library space that you can use as needed for your class. Teachers are always to remain with your class when they are in the Media Center.
Placing items on reserve or accessing a classroom cart:
When you are about to begin a unit of study on a particular topic, you can request that video and print items related to your study be put on reserve so they will be available for your students to use. These can be held in the Media Center or placed on a cart for temporary housing in your classroom as long as you need them.
The Media Specialist is available to teach lessons on a variety of topics for you class. Some of these might include: Evaluating Websites, Effective Research Practices, Selecting a Good Book, MLA Formatting for Research Papers, and Avoiding Plagiarism. Booktalks are also quick ways to encourage reading and literacy that are always available.
